Job Overview

The Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH) is seeking a skilled Data Analyst to drive data-centric research on hate, extremism, and disinformation. This role involves using Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), social media scraping, and both quantitative and qualitative analysis to produce insights on complex social issues. Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from social media and online sources
  • Conduct both qualitative and quantitative research on hate, extremism and disinformation trends
  • Develop data visualizations and reports to communicate findings
  • Monitor websites and messaging app channels to track extremist content and networks
  • Collaborate with CSOH’s interdisciplinary teams on data-driven projects

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related fields
  • 2+ years of experience in data analysis, especially within social science contexts
  • Proficiency in OSINT tools and techniques
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data processing
  • Experience with social media scraping and web scraping tools
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative research skills
  • Familiarity with network and sentiment analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and a commitment to impactful, socially relevant research
