Job Overview

The Center for the Study of Organized Hate (CSOH) is seeking an experienced researcher for its Violence, Extremism, and Radicalization Program (VERP) and Disinformation and Digital Security Program (DDSP) to lead impactful research on hate, extremism, and disinformation in South Asia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth field research on regional hate, extremism, violence and disinformation trends
  • Draft reports, policy briefs, and analytical articles
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets from social media and online sources
  • Develop data visualizations and reports to communicate findings
  • Monitor websites and messaging app channels to track extremist content and networks
  • Collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in online hate, violence and extremism research in South Asia
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
  • Proven research experience on South Asia
  • Expertise in qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Report writing and policy analysis skills
  • Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL for data processing (Optional)
  • Experience with social media scraping and web scraping tools (Optional)
  • Familiarity with network and sentiment analysis
