Afshan Khan

Associate Research Fellow

Afshan Khan is an Associate Research Fellow at the Center for the Study of Organized Hate’s Violence, Extremism, and Radicalization Program (VERP). Her research focuses on the intersection of religion and politics, secularism, the rise of majoritarian violence, religious nationalism, and right-wing populism in South Asia.  

Afshan is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science and International Relations at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University in Türkiye. She holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi. She has authored numerous articles, book reviews, and opinion pieces on politics, culture, and society for a variety of media and academic platforms.
